On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Plano Police Officers, along with Plano Fire-Rescue, responded to a report of a deceased individual at a residence in the 4600 block of Bending Oak Trail. Upon arrival, officers found a male in the backyard of the home. Plano Fire-Rescue personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene. The victim was identified as Patrick King, a 69-year-old man from Elburn, IL.
On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at around 5:30 a.m., 39-year-old Andrew James Swetland of Los Angeles, CA, was arrested in connection with King’s death. Swetland has been charged with Murder and is currently awaiting arraignment. The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Crimes Against Persons Unit.
