On September 26, 2024, a Tarrant County jury found 38-year-old Steven Tingling guilty of Aggravated Sexual Assault and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, resulting in a 40-year prison sentence.
The charges stemmed from an incident on November 11, 2023, during which Tingling threatened to kill his girlfriend and sexually assaulted her at knifepoint. The jury was presented with evidence of Tingling's history of violence against the victim, which began when she was just 16 years old and he was in his 30s. Prior to the trial, Tingling had allegedly pressured the victim to drop the charges against him.
The investigation was conducted by the Arlington Police Department.
