Second Suspect Arrested in November Walmart Parking Lot Murder in Frisco

The Frisco Police Department has announced a second arrest in the November 2024 murder of 22-year-old Ja'Karrion Craig. On Saturday, January 11, 2025, 24-year-old Jada Ann Mansfield of Dallas was taken into custody in Garland. She is being held at the Denton County Jail on a charge of Murder with a bond set at $1 million.

Frisco detectives obtained a warrant for Mansfield's arrest in mid-December after gathering sufficient evidence. The department expressed gratitude to the Garland Police Department and Dallas Police Department for their assistance in locating and apprehending Mansfield.

The first arrest in the case occurred earlier, when 22-year-old Jerry Bernard Johnson of Denton was taken into custody by Frisco SWAT and Denton Police on Dallas Drive in Denton.

The original incident occurred on the evening of November 13, 2024, in the parking lot of the Walmart located at Eldorado Parkway and FM 423. Frisco police responded to a report of gunshots around 8:23 PM. Witnesses stated that after hearing gunfire, one person was injured, and the suspect fled in a gray sedan. Officers found Craig with gunshot wounds to his chest and foot. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The investigation remains ongoing, and detectives continue to pursue evidence. Authorities emphasized that additional charges may be filed if new leads emerge.
